The Western Propane Gas Association is a trade and membership service organization that represents propane marketers throughout California. Founded in 1949, the association has grown in its influence while maintaining its core principles of education and safety. The association's primary purpose is to maintain high standards of practice within the industry, and in so doing, protect and expand the ability of its members to compete in the marketplace.

Get trained and be safe! The propane industry's Certified Employee Training Program (CETP) is a great resource for companies that want to improve the safety of their employees and customers as well as increase employee productivity and morale. This year, WPGA is offering seven CETP courses, including Basic Principles & Practices, Propane Delivery, Plant Operations, Distribution System Operations, Transfer Systems, Appliance Installation, and Appliance Service. Propane won't ignite when combined with air unless the source of ignition reaches at least 920 degrees Fahrenheit. In contrast, gasoline will ignite when the source of ignition reaches only 430 to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
